Free Triathlon Training

Want to get fit for free in 2017?

Here’s a link to the Facebook group with details for the dates / times / sessions.

In 2016, I couldn’t run a kilometre without having to stop and start. To get back in shape me and my pal entered the Brighton & Hove Triathlon to get a goal in the diary for 2016 and off we went.

We couldn’t fit in regular coached sessions as we both work and have a small family of wee nippers (not to mention the cost), so we decided to go it alone and get out training together. And that we did. Two sprint triathlons and one Olympic distance complete, we were hooked and most importantly we enjoyed it together!

Our ethos was all about having fun and having a life outside of training. If you aren’t having fun, what’s the point right?

So this January, I am starting a free to join training group, three Saturday mornings a month starting in the Saltdean Lido car park. Each week will have a theme, run/bike/swim, though we may wait until the lido opens or winter finishes before jumping in the sea. If there’s appetite for it, we could do regular pool sessions too!

If you’re thinking about entering your first triathlon in 2017, this would be a great way to start. If you fancy only taking part in the run sessions, that’s cool too! Whatever you want to do, if you just want to get out there and train with some local pals, that’s what we are here for!

We blogged about our progress as well as other random topics and interviews with some of the countries best triathletes, to help give us some inspiration, so have a scroll through the site and let us know your thoughts!

These sessions are not coached, they are purely a group of pals getting together to train. Within the group already, we have fast runners and some slow too. Experienced cyclists and newbies as well. Sea loving swimmers and water wing splashers, so you’ll never feel alone. There will always be a back marker to chat with out and about.

We look forward to seeing you out on the paths soon!
