The only way I was going to get through my first triathlon was if I had a pal to train with.

And that I do. My TriPal keeps me motivated to get out there and train. When I send messages with “are you sure you want to swim tonight? I just woke up from a nap” TriPal replies with “Let’s do a full run through on Christmas eve.” Me, ‘Why?’ “So we can gorge ourselves for the following 10 days of festivities.”

I love that thinking!

So, my TriPal keeps me going. So far we seem to push each other quite well. Neither of us are elite level tri-athletes and I’m certainly not the build of one, but the importance of having someone that keeps you motivated and keeps you going to reach that finish line is paramount to any training success. Otherwise…it’s just a bit boring doing it on your own isn’t it? And to be honest, they’re just a bit of a laugh to give you the pick you up you need when you feel like your shins are going to fly out the front of your legs at any point!

You have no one to help set your goals.

You have no one to help get you off the sofa and into the saddle.

You have no one else to share the same weird obsession with talking about triathlons (and we haven’t even done one together yet!).

So… get out there, get a #TriPal and get training!
