Trying to mix up my autumn / winter training, I’ve started a new gym routine.
Following my slightly nerdy obsession with triathlon, I’m going to try to fit in three specific workouts / sets / routines, call it what you want, into my limited lunch hours. Of course if I can spend longer in the gym, I’ll add to it, but this was a starting point and is actually a pretty easy routine for beginner or pro alike to do!
Today was day 1.
- 20 minute run, 30 second intervals
- 2km row, 30 second intervals
- 20 minute bike, 45 second intervals (45 seconds to climb a hill and back down)
I actually followed it with a three set of leg presses too!
It was short, so fit in my lunch hour perfectly, but was also a great cardio workout. Next year, I really want to be able to run faster, so hoping higher intensity interval training for my legs (rowing / running) and lungs, will help when I hit the trails this winter!
